Summer Financial Aid Application Now Available

Western’s Summer 2017 Financial Aid Application is now available via Web4U. The priority application deadline is Friday, May 12th. Students who meet this deadline can expect to receive their Notification of Summer Aid Eligibility beginning in late May.

Financial aid eligibility during summer quarter is limited to Direct Loan, Pell Grant (for Pell-eligible students), and College Bound Scholarship (for College Bound students who have not already received twelve quarters of the scholarship). The amount of federal student financial aid you can receive in summer is limited to the annual eligibility you have remaining from the 2016-2017 school year.

To request summer quarter financial aid, complete the application as soon as your summer plans are finalized. In addition to the summer financial aid application, a 2016-2017 FAFSA is also required to apply for summer financial aid. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov. Students who have already completed their 2015-2016 FAFSA for the current school year do not need to update their FAFSA. Students who have not already submitted their current year FAFSA must do so by June 30. The Financial Aid Department will begin summer processing in mid-May.

Attention Current Financial Aid Recipients! There is no need to update your 2016-2017 FAFSA. The Financial Aid Department will update your 2016-2017 FAFSA as part of our summer processes.

Important reminder: By registering for summer term, you incur a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees even if you have no summer term financial aid eligibility. This debt may be cancelled only if you officially withdraw via Web4U or by contacting the Registrar's Office before the appropriate course refund deadline. Contact our office at (360) 650-3470 before you register if you have eligibility questions or if you are unable to complete the application online.
