Summer Financial Aid Application is Now Available

Western's Summer 2019 Financial Aid Application is now available via Web4U. Applicants who submit their summer application by Friday, May 17 will receive notification of their eligibility by Friday, June 14. Applications are processed in the order they are received.

Aid types available during summer quarter include Federal Direct Loan, Pell Grant and College Bound Scholarship. Student’s eligibility for these aid types will be determined when summer application review begins. Students will be notified by email when their eligibility has been determined.

In addition to the summer financial aid application, a 2018-2019 FAFSA is also required to apply for summer financial aid. The FAFSA is available online at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/. Students who have not already submitted their current year FAFSA must do so by June 30.

Important Reminder

By registering for summer term, students incur a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees even if they are not eligible for summer term financial aid. This debt may be cancelled only if students officially withdraw via Web4U or contact the Registrar's Office before the appropriate course refund deadline.

Students should contact the Financial Aid Department before registering if they have questions regarding eligibility or are unable to complete the online application.

Summer Aid Eligibility

Aid types available during summer quarter include Federal Direct Loan, Pell Grant and College Bound Scholarship.

The amount of federal student loans available is limited to the annual eligibility remaining from the 2018-2019 school year. Parents of dependent students may wish to pursue the Parent PLUS Loan to assist with summer educational costs. Students must be enrolled half time or more in eligible coursework to be eligible for federal loans.

Students and parents may wish to pursue private educational loans to assist with summer educational costs. Some private educational loans may be available at less than half time enrollment.
